Supergirl #29
That cover says it all — Supergirl, trapped inside a glowing spherical prison, pounds against the walls in unmistakable alarm while a leering, grey-haired villainess looms enormous in the background, clutching the device with gleeful menace. The tagline "Granny's Little Girl!" perfectly sets the unsettling tone of this February 1999 issue, with Leonard Kirk and Robin Riggs delivering a cover that's visually striking in its contrast between the helpless heroine and her towering captor. Peter David's run on this series was consistently inventive, and "Small Change" sounds like exactly the kind of story that keeps readers eagerly turning pages.
