“Searching...”

Have You Seen This Boy?" — those missing-person flyers scattered across a tropical ground say it all about the mood of this March 1998 issue. The cover by Tom Grummett and Doug Hazlewood frames three concerned figures — a woman in a blue suit, a man in green carrying luggage, and a blonde woman in red being comforted by a blue-skinned figure in a purple and white costume — all standing over Superboy's face repeated across the flyers at their feet. Writer Barbara Kesel and artist Georges Jeanty deliver what looks to be a genuinely affecting chapter, with the story title "Searching..." perfectly echoing that image of people on the hunt for someone they care about.
