“Smallville Attacks! Part One”

In "Smallville Attacks! Part One," Superboy faces off against the Parasite in his hometown, where the villain’s hunt for Superman takes a deadly turn when he targets Conner instead. With his powers rapidly sapped, Conner relies on his unique tactile telekinesis to turn the tide—only to be caught in a sudden, mysterious surge of giant plant growth from the earth. Written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Pier Gallo, with colors by Jamie Grant and letters by John J. Hill, the issue’s cover by Rafael Albuquerque captures the chaos of the moment.

The Parasite appears in Smallville, looking to kill Superman, but finds Superboy instead. The Parasite quickly drains most of Superboy's power, but Conner uses his tactile telekinesis to smother the villain in wheat seeds. Moments later, however, out of the ground shoot giant stalks that ensnare Superboy, Krypto, and Simon.
