Part of DC's New 52 initiative, this December 2011 issue plunges Superboy straight into danger — the cover by Eric Canete puts the red-suited young hero face-to-face with a massive, fang-filled creature, its coiling tendrils and jagged teeth closing in from every angle. The tension radiating off that confrontation sets a thrilling tone for Scott Lobdell's story, brought to life inside by artist R. B. Silva and inker Rob Lean.
