In "Felizes para Sempre," Clark and Lois enjoy their honeymoon in Hawaii, only to stumble upon Superboy confronting the mysterious Kekona. After the battle, with Clark powerless, he’s suddenly shot and taken by men in a boat, leaving Lois to face the aftermath alone.

In "Eu Matei o Super-Homem!", Clark Kent wakes up after being shot and captured by Rajiv Naga's men, set up to draw Lois in. Remembering a past encounter where he outsmarted a foe by slowing his own heartbeat, Clark tries the same trick to escape—only to find himself trapped in a submerged submarine, far from any known surface.
