In "Un viento sopla desde Estigia," Conan navigates treacherous waters and shifting loyalties as he manipulates rival pirate captains Strombanni and Zarono into confronting the cursed treasure of Tranicos—only for his plan to unravel when the guardian demon proves too powerful. Forced into an uneasy truce, the three men must unite against the relentless Picts, only to find Valenso’s fort overrun and its commander facing a grim reckoning. With Valenso’s niece and her servant in peril, Conan escapes the carnage and is offered a new path by Aquilonian nobles seeking to dethrone their mad king—a challenge Conan, ever driven by ambition, is quick to accept.
