☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAn anthology issue featuring multiple stories: In one story, Super Brat uses a telescope at an observatory to spot a flying boy and causes chaos when he insists on investigating. Another story follows a character named Henry who discovers an oil well in his garden and must deal with the resulting complications. A third story features "Lil Teevy," in which a girl becomes obsessed with a television fashion show and inadvertently causes her family's dinner plans to go awry. The issue also includes a "Channel Y-O-U" activity where readers can create their own TV comedy show using finger puppets and a provided TV screen frame.
A boy named Ollie desperately wants a dog, but his parents keep refusing—he's already got too many pets. When the clock strikes midnight, he transforms into Super Brat and decides to find one himself, discovering an entire dog convention at the city pound. But his well-meaning midnight heist sets off a chain reaction with a sneaky dog catcher who's determined to stop him, leading to a showdown that might finally convince his parents he's ready for a pup.
Ollie's mother insists he wear a brand-new suit to Rosemary's birthday party—but the stubborn kid has other plans. Using his magic cape, Super Brat conjures up a moat filled with alligators around what he thinks is the right house, only to discover he's sabotaged the wrong one. When he sneaks back to the party to investigate the free food, his schemes unravel in hilariously messy fashion.
Li'l Teevy is so glued to the television that her worried parents take her to a doctor, convinced she's seriously ill—but the good doctor has a surprising discovery about what's really going on. This playful 1958 tale pokes fun at a youngster's single-minded devotion to the small screen.
