Suicide Squad #17

Jul 2017 · DC · 2.99 USD
“Blowing Up”

In "Blowing Up," the Suicide Squad is sent to Zimbabwe under the control of a Kryptonite brain bomb, forcing General Zod to join the mission. There, they uncover a hidden prison where the People have been experimenting on metahumans to create their own version of the Squad. Back at Belle Reve, Harcourt's true allegiance is exposed, leading to a betrayal of Waller—though Waller, ever one step ahead, has already anticipated the move. Written by Rob Williams and illustrated by Tony S. Daniel, with inks by Sandu Florea and LeBeau Underwood, colors by Tomeu Morey, and letters by Pat Brosseau, the issue's cover by Daniel and Florea captures the tension of a squad pushed to their limits.

Controlled by a Kryptonite brain bomb, General Zod joins the Squad on a mission to Zimbabwe to track down the Annihilation Brigade. There they find a secret prison where the People have been experimenting on meta-humans to build their own Suicide Squad. Back at Belle Reve, Harcourt is revealed as an agent of the People and betrays Waller, but Waller of course was expecting this and had prepared accordingly. Harcourt is killed before she can reveal who killed Hack.
