Namor the Sub-Mariner finds himself chained and kneeling before a commanding warrior-woman named Virago, whose spear is leveled at the Prince of Atlantis while two armored guards hold him at bay — a tense tableau rendered with real dramatic energy through the combined cover work of Rich Buckler, John Romita, and Bill Everett. The bold dialogue — "Unchain me, woman — or know the wrath of the true Sub-Mariner!" — sets up a defiant Namor refusing to yield even in captivity. Steve Gerber's "Voyage Into Chaos!" looks to be a wild ride through Marvel's undersea corner of 1973.
