Sub-Mariner #5
The cover of this 1968 Marvel issue says it all — a massive, snarling Tiger Shark dominates the scene, looming triumphantly over a fallen blue-skinned woman while a battered Namor spirals helplessly through the water behind him. John Buscema's pencils, inked by Frank Giacoia, give Tiger Shark a ferocious, hulking presence that makes the threat feel genuinely overwhelming. Roy Thomas's story promises exactly the kind of undersea clash the cover teases so vividly.
