Dark Horse's Starstruck: The Expanding Universe continues with Volume 1, Book 2, and Mike Kaluta's cover art makes an immediate impression — a blond woman in red grapples fiercely with a massive, grotesque creature in a framed central vignette, while two cheerful figures in matching green uniforms crouch below, one clutching what appears to be a map. Elaine Lee and Kaluta bring their distinctive blend of pulpy adventure and offbeat charm to this 1990 series, and the cover's split tones — urgent action up top, breezy comedy below — hint at a story with plenty of range. If "Make a Wish" is any indication, Starstruck's expanding universe has room for both pulse-pounding conflict and warmly quirky characters.
