The mid-point of the "Demon Quest" trilogy arrives with one of the most visually arresting covers of 1996 — Tony Harris renders a top-hatted, elegantly sinister figure holding a gleaming red apple, coiled about by a serpent, while an ethereal woman with wild golden hair looms large behind him in an unmistakable Garden of Eden tableau. Hearts, flames, and a swooping bird fill the lush, painterly background, giving the whole image a surreal, allegorical weight that sets this series apart from its DC contemporaries. James Robinson, Harris, and Wade von Grawbadger are firing on all cylinders here, and this issue makes clear that Starman was something genuinely special in the mid-'90s landscape.
