Starfire #3
From DC's 1976 sword-and-sorcery series, this third issue puts Starfire front and center in a vivid, action-charged cover by Mike Vosburg and Vince Colletta — her green scale-patterned outfit and long dark hair flying as she holds her ground against two menacing figures, a muscular swordsman bearing a skull emblem and a hulking pink brute closing in from behind. The cover tagline says it all: "Only a young woman's sword and her courage will challenge the inhuman hordes who would enslave her people!" Inside, Elliot Maggin's script and Vosburg's art carry that spirit into "The Arena of the Frost-Dragon," promising exactly the kind of fierce, determined heroism the cover delivers.
