Star Wars: Splinter of the Mind's Eye #3

Issue three of four in Dark Horse's 1996 adaptation pulls Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia deep into danger, and the cover by Mark Harrison captures that tension vividly — Luke raises his ignited lightsaber overhead in a murky, luminescent cavern while Leia crouches beside him, both figures dressed in dark gear and clearly bracing for a threat lurking just out of frame. The eerie green glow of the environment gives the whole scene an unsettling, otherworldly atmosphere that suits the story's swampy, perilous setting perfectly. With Terry Austin and Chris Sprouse handling the interior work, this penultimate chapter promises the kind of tightly wound Star Wars adventure that made this mini-series a worthwhile corner of the 1996 Expanded Universe.
