The series was announced exclusively on StarWars.com and Marvel.com in early 2024, positioned as part of Marvel's ongoing programme of Disney+ television adaptations that had already included The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Writer Rodney Barnes and the alternating art team of Steven Cummings and Georges Jeanty — the same trio behind both Mandalorian comic seasons — were assembled specifically because of their proven record adapting live-action Star Wars television. Issue #8 fell to Georges Jeanty (pencils), Karl Story (inks), and Rachelle Rosenberg (colors), with a main cover by David Nakayama; its FOC date was January 20, 2025, and it reached shelves on February 19, 2025. The complete eight-issue run was subsequently collected in the trade paperback Star Wars: Ahsoka — Season One, published by Marvel on May 6, 2025.
