The series was announced on February 2, 2024 and represents Ahsoka Tano's debut as the lead of her own Marvel Comics title, following the creative team's prior work adapting both seasons of The Mandalorian. Writer Rodney Barnes and alternating artists Steven Cummings and Georges Jeanty were assembled specifically because of their experience translating Disney+ Star Wars television to the comic page; issue #4 falls on Jeanty's rotation. Editor Mark Paniccia oversaw the adaptation, which Marvel positioned as a direct eight-issue comic translation of all eight episodes of the Disney+ series.
