About this Issue

Star Wars: Ahsoka #2 is the second chapter of Ahsoka Tano's first-ever solo Marvel Comics series — a landmark in itself, given that the character had appeared across animated series, video games, and live-action television for over a decade before receiving a dedicated solo run. As the comic-page translation of 'Part Two: Toil and Trouble,' it brings the full ensemble of the Ahsoka television series — including Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, Morgan Elsbeth, Chopper, Huyang, General Hera Syndulla, and Sabine Wren — into the ongoing Marvel canon in sequential-art form. The issue marks the first time the Corellian Imperial shipyard investigation and Sabine Wren's pivotal decision to resume her Jedi training are dramatized in comics, cementing story beats that carry across the entire eight-issue arc. It also continues the creative tradition, established by the same team on The Mandalorian adaptations, of translating prestige Disney+ live-action storytelling directly into the Marvel Star Wars line.

History

The series was announced on February 2, 2024, at StarWars.com as Ahsoka's first dedicated solo Marvel run, following the same creative team — writer Rodney Barnes and alternating pencillers Steven Cummings and Georges Jeanty — who had previously adapted both seasons of The Mandalorian for Marvel. Jeanty takes the pencil from Cummings beginning with this second issue, establishing the alternating-artist pattern used throughout the miniseries. Editor Mark Paniccia, a long-time Marvel Star Wars steward, shepherded the series, and Barnes described adapting the character as 'truly an honor,' calling Ahsoka 'the essence of classic Star Wars.' The eight-issue structure maps one comic issue to each episode of the Disney+ show's first season.
