Star Wars: Ahsoka #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeStar Wars: Ahsoka #1 holds a clear place in Marvel's modern Star Wars publishing history as Ahsoka Tano's first-ever solo comic book run at the House of Ideas — a milestone for a character who spent years as a supporting player before headlining her own Disney+ series. The issue also marks the comic book debut of Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati, two Force-wielders created exclusively for the live-action show and appearing in print for the first time in these pages. As part of Marvel's ongoing project of translating Disney+ stories into canon comic form, it brought the entire ensemble from the beloved Star Wars Rebels animated series — Sabine Wren, General Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger, and Professor Huyang — into the comic medium for the first time in their post-Rebellion incarnations. The issue thus serves as a convergence point for animated, live-action, and comics storytelling within Lucasfilm's interconnected canon.

The series was announced on February 2, 2024, at StarWars.com and through a simultaneous Marvel press release, with issue #1 hitting shops on July 10, 2024. Marvel tapped writer Rodney Barnes and penciller Steven Cummings — the same creative team that had previously adapted both seasons of The Mandalorian — to carry the project, with Georges Jeanty alternating on art duties from issue #2 onward, while Cummings handled the launch issue. Editor Mark Paniccia, who oversaw the project, noted publicly that Marvel had long wanted to develop a solo Ahsoka comics vehicle, and the success of the Disney+ series provided the opportunity. The eight-issue structure mirrors the show's episode count exactly, with each issue adapting one episode, following the same format established by The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi adaptations.
