Squadron Sinister #3

Part of Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars event, this third issue of Squadron Sinister drops readers into the thick of brutal, no-holds-barred conflict. The cover by Carlos Pacheco and Mariano Taibo centers on Hyperion mid-battle, hoisting a civilian overhead against a smoldering, rubble-strewn landscape, with several fallen figures — including a red-haired woman — scattered around him, and another civilian reeling to the right. The sidebar neatly reminds us who's in play: Hyperion, Nighthawk, Dr. Spectrum, Whizzer, and Warrior Woman — a team whose name alone promises something far darker than heroism under Marc Guggenheim's pen.
