Squadron Sinister #2

Part of Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars event, this second issue of Squadron Sinister brings the full roster into sharp focus — Hyperion looming at the center foreground, flanked by the red-haired, purple-suited woman, Nighthawk towering in green behind them, and the remaining team members arrayed alongside, while a chaotic battle scene tears across the lower half of the cover. Writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Carlos Pacheco (with inks by Mariano Taibo) deliver a team portrait that bristles with barely contained menace, each member's character portrait neatly catalogued along the left margin — Hyperion, Nighthawk, Dr. Spectrum, Whizzer, and Warrior Woman. If you're following the darker corners of Battleworld, this is exactly the kind of villains-in-charge tension that makes Secret Wars so compelling.
