Trapped on Squall, Spyke learns how to survive. Conita gives him a suit to survive Squall's environment. After encountering mutated people (Berzerkers), crows (Rothair) and rats (Gibbets), Spyke sleeps with Conita. Conita takes him to the Impariel House and tells Duke Manfred that, if he kills Spyke, he will go to Earth. Spyke kills the Duke and is transported to Pandrakon.
