Spooky #97

Harvey Comics' "the tuff little ghost" is back in fine form with this 1967 issue, and the cover tells you everything you need to know about the chaos ahead. A two-headed green witch in a purple robe is swooning with hearts aflutter, clearly smitten with poor Spooky, who is making a very hasty — and very blushing — exit while his little top hat goes flying through the air. It's the kind of warm, wonderfully silly Harvey humor that made Spooky a perennial favorite, and "Spooky Meets Dirtrude" promises exactly the sort of unwanted admiration that would send any self-respecting little ghost zooming away at top speed.
