Spooky #68

Harvey Comics' "tuff little ghost" is in full cowboy mode on this cheerful 1962 cover, with Spooky decked out in a wide-brimmed hat, holster, and gun belt — his six-shooter apparently backfiring into a spectacular burst of shattered pieces right in his face. It's a perfectly charming bit of slapstick that captures everything endearing about the little ghost's knack for getting into good-natured trouble. At 12 cents, issue #68 is a delightful snapshot of Harvey's warm, kid-friendly humor at its most playful.
