Spooky #67

Harvey Comics' "the tuff little ghost" is in fine form in this 1962 issue, where the cover finds a startled, sweat-flying Spooky recoiling from a tiny, fist-shaking imp who appears to be riding — of all things — a bright red apple, with Spooky's derby hat tumbling through the air above. It's the kind of wonderfully absurd gag that made Harvey's ghost-with-attitude such a delight, and "The Land of Make-Believe" sounds like just the right backdrop for that sort of cheerful mischief.
