Spooky #59

Harvey's "tuff little ghost" is back in this charming 1961 installment, and the cover sets up a perfectly whimsical scene: Spooky — complete with his signature black derby hat — has dozed off against a large boulder, a tic-tac-toe game scrawled across his ghostly belly, while two other little ghosts in the background appear to be chatting and carrying on without him. There's something endlessly endearing about a ghost who can't stay awake long enough to haunt anyone, and "The Scaring Mystery" promises the kind of lighthearted mischief that made Harvey Comics a staple of 1961 spinner racks.
