Spooky #135

Harvey Comics' "tuff little ghost" is up to his usual mischief in Spooky #135, and the cover says it all — our cheerful little ghost has plunged his head right into a roaring circus lion's mouth, seemingly more amused than alarmed as the crowd looks on in disbelief. It's a wonderfully absurd scene that captures everything endearing about Spooky: he's too carefree to be scared of anything, even a big cat with very sharp teeth. With friends like Casper, Wendy, Poil, and the Ghostly Trio also teased on the cover, this 1973 Harvey gem promises a full roster of friendly phantoms and plenty of good-natured fun.
