“Super Spook”

Harvey Comics' "the tuff little ghost" is at his mischievous best in Spooky #120, where our little bowler-hat-wearing ghost has apparently startled a ghost doctor right out of his wits during what looks like an eye exam — the eye chart on the wall and the panicked physician with his head mirror and stethoscope tell the whole story. It's a wonderfully silly 1970 gag setup that captures everything endearing about Spooky: the tiny troublemaker floating cheerfully toward the chart while the hapless doctor recoils in shock. A charming slice of Harvey humor at a time when the publisher had ghost comedy down to a fine art.
