In "Gröna Trollets återkomst!", Spider-Man attends a fan club gathering hosted by Flash Thompson, only to be interrupted by the Green Goblin's sudden attack. With the Human Torch present to lend a hand, the two heroes fight back—but when Spider-Man learns Aunt May is in the hospital, he abruptly leaves the scene, leaving the crowd shaken and questioning his courage.

In "Slutet för Spindelmannen!", Spider-Man faces his lowest point when the city turns against him, branding him a coward after he flees from Sandman. With his personal life crumbling and his identity as a hero in question, Peter Parker must confront whether he can continue fighting when even his own belief in himself is fading.
