Spider-Woman #13
This 2017 Marvel issue kicks off the "Scare Tactics" arc in style, with a cover by Javier Rodríguez that immediately sets a Halloween tone: Spider-Woman crouches atop an enormous jack-o'-lantern in her striking red-and-black costume, while an inverted, green-faced villain — Hobgoblin — lurks reflected beneath it, a cascade of sinister "HA"s connecting the two. The color work by Rachelle Rosenberg makes that orange pumpkin pop brilliantly against the teal background, giving the whole image a playfully eerie energy. With Dennis Hopeless writing and Veronica Fish on art, "Good Old Fashioned Hob Kabobs" promises a fun, fright-tinged showdown that's hard to resist.
