Phil Noto's cover for this 2021 Marvel series says everything you need to know about the stakes: a massive, looming symbiote Spider-Man dominates the purple-hued image, his white spider-symbol spreading across the composition like a web, while a cluster of heroes — including what appear to be the Hobgoblin and several others — are caught helplessly within it. Chip Zdarsky and Pasqual Ferry's "What If Peter Parker kept the black suit?" premise is in full, unsettling swing by this third chapter of five. The sense of dread radiating from that cover alone makes this limited series one of 2021's most compelling Spider-Man reads.
