Spider-Man / Red Sonja #[nn]
In "Sword of the She-Devil," a desperate politician's curiosity unleashes the ancient sorcerer Kulan Gath upon modern New York, turning the city into a living relic of the past. Spider-Man, one of the few untouched by the transformation, races to the Metropolitan Museum to uncover the source—only to find Mary Jane scaling its facade, where she claims a mystical blade and is transformed into the legendary Red Sonja. Written by Michael Avon Oeming and illustrated by Mel Rubi, with colors by Brian Buccellato and letters by Simon Bowland, this 2008 crossover blends cosmic horror with superhero grit. The striking cover by Michael Turner and Mark Roslan captures the moment of transformation in bold, dynamic detail.
