Hotshot geneticist Miguel O'Hara decides to leave the company he works for due to ethical differences, but his boss hooks him on a highly addictive designer drug to keep him around. Putting himself through his own genetic process to try and rid himself of his addiction, Miguel's plans are thwarted by a rival co-worker and he gains the powers of a futuristic Spider-Man.
