“Spider-Man: The New Status Quo!”

Spider-Man: The New Status Quo! kicks off a pivotal chapter in Peter Parker’s life as he struggles to balance his identity as a hero with the everyday pressures of adulthood—like finding a job and helping Aunt May, who’s volunteering at Martin Li’s FEAST building. When a masked mugger in a Spider-Man suit ambushes him on New Year’s Eve, Peter’s pursuit leads him straight into a crisis at the Daily Bugle, where a heated confrontation with Jonah Jameson ends in shocking fashion. Written by Dan Slott and brought to life with dynamic art by Steve McNiven and Dexter Vines, this issue captures the raw, uncertain energy of a hero stepping into a new era.

Aunt May pushes Peter to find a job but, thanks to his spotty work record in his previous employment, he finds this a little tough to do. Peter goes to a club on New Year's Eve with Harry and friends but he is mugged by a guy in a Spider-Man mask. Peter follows the thug right into the FEAST building where he finds Aunt May volunteering at Martin Li's homeless relief operations. Badly in need of some cash, Peter heads to the Daily Bugle not knowing that Jonah is in the midst of handling a buyout crisis. When JJJ refuses to pay Peter, Pete lays into him and watches as Jameson has a heart attack.
