Spider-Man #19

Part two of the "Revenge of the Sinister Six" arc puts Spider-Man in a genuinely daunting spot, as the cover by Erik Larsen shows the wall-crawler swinging directly into a crushing wave of villains — Sandman's massive fist, a snarling Hobgoblin wreathed in flames, the Lizard, Electro, and the Vulture all surging upward while the Kingpin looms in a corner inset. Larsen's kinetic linework captures the sheer weight of six-on-one odds with real energy, bodies piling into the frame from every direction. If you're following this 1992 storyline, this cover alone makes clear that "Slugfest" is an entirely fitting title.
