Spider-Girl #5

Part of Marvel's 2011 "Fear Itself" event, this fifth issue of Spider-Girl promises "Kraven's Next Hunt!" — and the cover by Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic delivers on that tension immediately, depicting Spider-Girl in her sleek black-and-white suit locked in a fierce mid-air clash with a blonde female opponent against a moody, smoldering cityscape. The two figures are almost face-to-face, grappling with an intensity that suggests this hunt is very personal. With Paul Tobin writing and Matthew Southworth and Sergio Cariello on art, this series continues to put Anya Corazon through her paces in serious style.
