Spawn #46 arrives in April 1996 with a cover by Tony S. Daniel and Kevin Conrad that puts the hellspawn front and center — his tattered crimson cape billowing wide, chains trailing, and glowing green necroplasmic energy blazing from his fist as a winged figure looms ominously in the background. The raw, kinetic energy of Daniel's pencils, finished by Conrad's inks, gives Spawn an imposing presence that feels genuinely threatening against the pale, moonlit sky. With a story titled "Revenge," this is one issue of Todd McFarlane's landmark series where the cover does an excellent job setting a dark, charged tone.
