Spawn looms massive and menacing on this cover to issue #224, his white mask glowing with green eyes as spiked red gauntlets, a flowing cape, and a heavy golden chain frame his imposing figure — with a grinning skull nestled ominously at his chest. The subtitle "Triumphs on a Dark Night" sets a fittingly brooding tone for this 2012 Image release. Todd McFarlane handles both pencils and inks on the cover, with FCO Plascencia's coloring giving the whole composition a smoldering, hellish warmth.
