Sparkler Comics #9 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. "The Spark Man and the Mad Man at the Switch" follows the costumed hero Spark Man in action against a villain. Another story involves Burke and Marian on a quiet stroll encountering a dangerous situation with a Native American character named Bombo, who plans revenge on a ranch guest, leading to a kidnapping plot that is ultimately resolved with the characters' engagement announcement. "Abbie an' Slats" depicts glamorous girl Audrey Blaine enlisting gangster acquaintances to help rescue her from a college setup, with the men planning to hold her for ransom disguised as Harvard boys, though Slats refuses to participate in the robbery scheme.
