David Pepose and Jonathan Lau launched the Space Ghost series for Dynamite Entertainment in May 2024 under license from Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, re-framing the 1960s Hanna-Barbera animated hero as a hard-edged galactic vigilante. The run proved commercially and critically successful enough that Dynamite announced a formal Volume 2 relaunch in April 2025, retaining the full creative team — Pepose, Lau, colorist Andrew Dalhouse, and letterer Taylor Esposito — while also simultaneously expanding the Hanna-Barbera line with new Dynamite titles including Blue Falcon & Dynomutt (launched September 2025, written by Jimmy Palmiotti with art by Pasquale Qualano). Space Ghost Vol. 2 #5, published December 2025, falls at the midpoint of that second year and arrives just a few months after Blue Falcon's Dynamite debut, making a crossover between the two titles a natural early test of the shared-universe framework Dynamite was building.
