Space Ghost #3
In "Tarko the Terrible - Unfrozen and Unleashed!", Space Ghost and the Ghost Team face a chilling new threat when they uncover the frozen remains of an ancient Viking warrior during a battle with the ice-powered villain Feron. Reluctantly bringing the thawing Tarko to Doctor Henry Contra—the self-proclaimed grandfather of Jan and Jace—they soon realize the warrior’s awakening is far from a simple rescue. Written by David Pepose and brought to life by Jonathan Lau’s dynamic art and Andrew Dalhouse’s vivid colors, this 2025 issue delivers a pulse-pounding clash of past and future, with Francesco Mattina’s cover capturing the primal fury of the unchained Tarko.

While defeating Feron, a freeze-themed villain armed with a cryogenic cannon, the Ghost Team discovers the body of an ancient Viking warrior frozen in a block of ice. Reluctantly, Space Ghost takes the cryogenically preserved party to the “one person in the galaxy who can save him”, Doctor Henry Contra – the man claiming to be the maternal grandfather of Jan and Jace. Breaking out of his icy captivity, Tarko the Terrible wreaks violent havoc across Space Ghost’s contemporary (future) civilization.
