In "Les otages !", Dr. Doom holds Arcade captive, prompting Miss Locke to seize the X-Men's loved ones to force their cooperation. With Xavier rallying Havok, Polaris, and Iceman, the team splits: Storm, Wolvie, Colossus, Angel, and Nightcrawler infiltrate the temporary Castle Doom in upstate New York, while the others head to Murderworld. Storm finds herself unexpectedly courted by Victor as her teammates battle through the castle’s defenses, and Arcade—more guest than prisoner—joins the fray. When Doom is attacked, he traps Storm in metal and turns his full focus on the rest of the team.

In "Cauchemarland," the X-Men are trapped in Doom’s deadly Murderworld, each facing a unique test of will and survival. While Storm struggles with her fear in a metal prison that triggers a storm beyond the castle walls, Havok, Polaris, Iceman, and Banshee push through the maze in a desperate race to rescue their loved ones.
