Southern Bastards #12
Southern Bastards #12 wraps up the "Homecoming" arc with a cover that hits like a gut punch — a wild-eyed, sunglasses-wearing figure in a flowing coat comes barreling forward astride a charging hog, mouth wide open with a ferocious "KILLYAH!" The whole image is rendered in Chris Brunner's raw, expressive linework against a blood-red field spattered with grime, perfectly capturing the series' furious Southern Gothic energy. Jason Latour and Brunner have built something genuinely compelling here, and this issue promises a chaotic conclusion to one of Image's most uncompromising ongoing series.
