This 48-page 1997 Archie special pits two of gaming's most recognizable rivals face-to-face, with Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna squaring off nose-to-nose across a planted sword on a cover penciled by Patrick Spaziante and inked by Andrew Pepoy. Flanking them on both sides is a crowd of supporting characters — including Tails, Sally, Bunnie, Antoine, Charmy Bee, Vector the Crocodile, and more — each charging in with equal energy, making the whole image crackle with the feeling of an all-out showdown. With writing from Kent Taylor and Ken Penders and a generous page count, this is a satisfying chunk of Sonic storytelling from the height of Archie's run with the franchise.
