Solomon Kane #3
The third chapter of Marvel's six-issue limited series finds Robert E. Howard's grim Puritan adventurer Solomon Kane in a tense, atmospheric moment — on Bill Sienkiewicz's painted cover, Kane grips a crescent-headed staff while cradling an armored, seemingly unconscious figure amid a stark tangle of bare branches and pale mist. Sienkiewicz's moody, painterly style gives the scene a haunting weight that feels perfectly suited to Howard's dark-edged world. With "Blades of the Brotherhood" on the docket and a creative team including Bret Blevins and Al Williamson on interiors, this 1986 issue is a compelling entry in one of Marvel's more distinctive sword-and-shadow series.
