Solo #4
DC's Solo series handed each issue entirely to one creator, and issue #4 belongs completely to Howard Chaykin, who writes, draws, inks, and letters throughout. The cover — penciled and inked by Chaykin himself — sets a cool, contemplative mood with a sharply dressed man lost in the music of a gleaming tenor saxophone, the bold primary-colored logo above him feeling more like a jazz album than a superhero comic. With a story titled "The Last Time I Saw Paris," this 2005 issue promises the kind of stylish, world-weary atmosphere that Chaykin does so well.
