Titled "Riders of the Swarm!" right on the cover, this July 1999 issue of Marvel's Slingers plunges the young team into a harrowing underground confrontation, surrounded by monstrous, skull-faced creatures closing in from every angle. Two Slingers — one in a teal-and-purple costume hurling a glowing disc, another in black-and-white engaged by a swirling cosmic vortex — hold their ground against the encroaching horde in a dynamic composition from cover penciler ChrisCross and inker Rob Stull.
