Sláine attacks Sheriff Gilbert and learns that Niamh is the key to the location of the Sword of the Blood God. But Niamh re-incarnated as Sister Marian refuses to divulge the secret. However Sláine solves the riddle of the God's name and summons the God to battle. About to be defeated the Blood God retreats but condemns Marian to be burnt. The Goddess intervenes to prevent Marian from being burnt but Broog summons the Blood God once more. However, Sláine attacks and kills the Blood God.
