Simpsons Comics #178
In "Marge's Extreme Make-Under," Marge Simpson takes on a bold new mission after her sisters Patty and Selma are publicly shamed by Kent Brockman for Springfield’s dubious title as the ugliest city in America. Tired of the town’s harsh judgments, Marge steps into her sisters’ shoes—literally and figuratively—and discovers just how differently people treat her when she’s seen as unattractive. The story, written by James W. Bates and illustrated by John Costanza with inks by Phyllis Novin and colors by Art Villanueva, launches a heartfelt protest movement with a twist. The cover, by Jason Ho and Mike Rote, captures the moment Marge embraces her new role with surprising determination.
