Silver Surfer #9

The banner says it all — "And Now — Galactus!" — and Michael Allred's cover delivers with a striking close-up of the Devourer of Worlds filling nearly the entire frame, his massive purple visage grinning with unsettling confidence. Perched on Galactus's nose, a tiny Silver Surfer kneels defiantly against the cosmic giant, while a young dark-haired woman rides the Surfer's board in the background, caught up in whatever universe-spanning trouble "Slingshot" promises. Laura Allred's bold, warm palette gives the whole scene a wonderfully retro-yet-fresh energy that makes this 2015 Marvel issue genuinely hard to put down before you've even opened it.
