“Initiation”

Part one of "The Herald Ordeal" arc kicks off with a cover that sets the stakes immediately — the towering, helmet-crowned Galactus dominates the frame while the Silver Surfer and a fiery Nova clash in the foreground, the cover copy boldly promising that Nova betrays the Devourer of Worlds. Ron Lim's pencils (inked by Tom Christopher) give the scene a tremendous sense of cosmic scale, with energy crackling in every corner as two heralds square off against their master's immense silhouette. If you've been following the Surfer's 1992 adventures, this is exactly the kind of sweeping, galaxy-spanning drama the series does so well.
